12th Psalm - Plea for Help in Evil Times

Help, O LORD, for there is no longer anyone who is godly;
the faithful have disappeared from humankind.
They utter lies to each other;
with flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

May the LORD cut off all flattering lips,
the tongue that makes great boasts,
those who say, "With our tongues we will prevail;
our lips are our own--who is our master?"

"Because the poor are despoiled, because the needy groan,
I will now rise up," says the LORD;
"I will place them in the safety for which they long."
The promises of the LORD are promises that are pure,
silver refined in a furnace on the ground,
purified seven times.

You, O LORD, will protect us;
you will guard us from this generation forever.
On every side the wicked prowl,
as vileness is exalted among humankind.

Hahahahahahahaha!

Is this a reaction to the election? If so, don't you think you might be overreacting a teensy bit?

The wicked? Vileness is exalted?

He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.
A fool's lips bring him strife, and his mouth invites a beating.

That's from Proverbs.

Lots of stupid stuff is in the Bible. So what? It doesnt make the post any less of an hilarious over-reaction.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

That's also from Proverbs

I've enjoyed your blog for your perspective that is truly in the minority these days. Thank you for being a mouth piece for millions of Americans that do NOT want a liberal agenda that compromises traditional values. As long as there are brave people speaking out as you do on this blog, I believe there is some hope. We truly are now the "Davids" fighting the Goliath of liberalism. To keep myself sane, I'm reading my Bible and Ronald Reagan speeches and quotes:) Please remain strong and firm in the midst of this storm for the steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord!

Exactly.

And then there's this, from Psalm 141:
LORD, I call to you; come quickly to help me; listen to my plea when I call.
Let my prayer be incense before you; my uplifted hands an evening sacrifice.
Set a guard, LORD, before my mouth, a gatekeeper at my lips.
Do not let my heart incline to evil, or yield to any sin. I will never feast upon the fine food of evildoers.

And good day to you, too sir!
