Republicans lost this presidential election, and I don't blame the messenger; I blame the message. How could Republicans go after B. Hussein Obama (as he is now known) on planning to bankrupt the coal companies when McCain supports the exact same cap and trade policies and earnestly believes in global warming? So many times - especially during the debates - Barack Obama would state his position on something, and I would be thinking to myself, "Great what is McCain going to say to that; he believes the same thing."
How could we go after Obama for his illegal alien aunt and for supporting driver's licenses for illegal aliens when McCain fanatically pushed amnesty along with his good friend Teddy Kennedy?
How could we go after Obama for Jeremiah Wright when McCain denounced any Republicans who did so?
How could we go after Obama for planning to hike taxes on the "rich," when McCain was the only Republican to vote against both of Bush's tax cuts on the grounds that they were tax cuts for the rich?
And why should Republican activists slave away working for McCain when he has personally, viciously attacked: John O'Neill and the Swift Boat Veterans, National Right to Life director Doug Johnson, evangelical pastors Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and John Hagee, various conservative talk radio hosts, the Tennessee Republican Party and on and on and on?
When given the choice between a Democrat and Democrat-lite, why not just go for the Democrat. That is exactly what often happened in this election.
Good Day to You, Sir

Pure and simply, he lost because the economy tanked. People wrongly voted for Obama because they were convinced to blame Bush for what they saw as disaster. Buyer's remorse will set in soon.
I like what Ann Coulter said, but honestly...I don't think that 90-95% of the voters ever put 2 and 2 together like she just did.
I think McCain lost because the MSM was SO TOTALLY IN THE TANK for Obama that there was just no way for the information to reach the common folk. I think most people watch TV or read newspapers to get their 'news'.
I have never seen anything like what I saw this election. The MSM wanted Obama to win so bad it was disgusting. My wife also noticed it and no longer likes Charlie Gibson because of his demeaning treatment of Sara Palin. Also...the GOTCHA questions from Charlie and also from Katie Couric. Why didn't they launch GOTCHA questions towards Obama and Biden? They could've had a field day, but...
I think I made my point.
I like Coulter, too, but I think that people were ready to punish Republicans for the sins of Bush. McCain was the proverbial sacrificial lamb. I hope those who need the blood spilled are able to live with the reality of what they have done.
I don't hate Coulter, I don't always agree with her, but I see her point. McCain was also outspent and BO had the media on his side as well as a bad economy, I'm not sure if anyone would have beaten him this time.
4 years from now is another story...
McCain lost because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The economy tanked and all the white guilt voters had friends to vote with. It's a shame and four years from the world will be different.
He lost because he was an idiot, completely out of touch with reality, and picked a borderline retarded Godidiot for his running mate. Duh.
The fact that you people actually give a fig about anything Ann Coulter says makes it clear why you people will have your heads up your political asses for many years to come. Acting like fascists isn't as cool as it was 4 years ago, much to your disappointment. Times have changed and you people just don't seem to get that. Conservatism failed. It wasn't failed by politicians. The philosophy has failed. Back to hell where you came from, where you can party like hell with Nixon and Reagan.
