Happy Birthday, Mr. President

The greatest president of the 20th Century was born 97 years ago today.

As the years pass by, the accomplishment for which I see Ronald Reagan remembered more and more is his speech in front of the Berlin Wall in June of 1987. In that speech, against the advice of his weeny advisers in the state department, Reagan demanded to Mr. Gorbachev: "Tear down this wall!"

The Soviets weren't used to our presidents standing up to them, and when Reagan came along, they were at a loss of what to do. Collapsing and disappearing was a good way to go!

Good Day to You, Sir

He was an amazingly upright man...such a rarity today.

As I got ill on Wednesday evening, I did not remember that it was Reagan's birthday.

I also felt he was the best President of the 20th century, if not of the entire history of the United States.

When he died, I cried. Yes, I admit it, I cried. Not as much as when my mother and father passed, but it did stir emotions in me.

Reagan made this country great again. He “toed the line” with the Russians and dared them to act. He made the United States again a power to be feared and respected. Heck, even my Democratic father-in-law voted for him.

We need another Reagan NOW!!! Not a Clinton, not a Obama, and not a McCain. We need some who actually was a foot soldier in the Reagan Army, not someone who claims to be.

Thank you for reminding me of his birthday. I will post soemthing on my blog about his birthday and will reference you. I hope you don't mind.
