Rare double feature of God's Country

I forgot about this little photo I took, but I think it is very beautiful. It was also shot near Burney, on a lovely day in early June, 2004. By the way, I have no idea what kind of flower that is. For all I know, it's a weed! Remember, you'll get more out of the photo if you click on it.

Good Day to You, Sir

Looks almost like a type of lilac, but I'm not botonist.

But thanks for the new posts. BEAUTIFUL!

It is a wild lilac, known officially as ceanothus.

Liz here from I Speak of Dreams. Yup. Ceanothus. There are many species and it has also been hybridized for the gardener. Go to Calflora for help identifying other plants in California.
