Supreme hypocrisy

Jacob Sullum of Reason Magazine does a much better job that I could have done of articulating a very important point about the dissenting Supreme Court Justices - Stevens, Breyer, Ginsburg, and Sotomayor - in the recent McDonald v. City of Chicago decision in which the majority of the Justices made it perfectly clear that the 2nd Amendment applies to state and local governments as much as to the federal government.

Sullum points out that in so many other cases, the dissenting justices trample all over state and local rights by overturning constitutional laws passed by the legislatures or city councils of those jurisdictions - anti-abortion laws and anti-pornography laws being two prime examples. With the 2nd Amendment however, all of a sudden, these same Justices are all in favor of letting state and local governments pass all the anti-self defense laws they want.

Read Sullum's excellent column if you are really in the mood for a crash course in the abundant hypocrisy from those fascists in the Court's minority.
